*This piece is from the solo show Distance of One:

Distance of One presents the separation of three once-whole ceramic sculptures. Through the juxtaposition of the divided pieces, exists an implied connection to render the sculptures whole. This installation is a metaphorical representation of myself. The implied connection, to join the disjointed parts portrays my physical, emotional and mental state in my long distance relationship. The three pieces each represent a different state of being. The green piece, Segmented Growth represents my physical state. Utilizing a ladder form, it symbolizes upward growth. The top quarter has been detached, halting further movement. Correlating to the tensions of my emotional state, Arranged Self, (wall piece), consists of three boxes housing geometric and amorphous forms. Constricted Thought expresses my analytic state through a diptych sculpture of a blue cloud form encased in a strict grid. This enclosure both visually and physically constricts the conjoining and freedom of the complete form.

Constructed from pinched coils this lamp hangs 12 feet from the ceiling.

A home is an environment where people belong. A place where people live and dwell, where objects belong and have designated space. Home contains a variety of sculptural elements. Some elements are self-portraits, others are inspired by my father’s architectural sketches and all are influenced by contemporary ceramics. As these elements merge together they create an environment; each component, assembled, interacting with one another to create a sense of home.

Collected Junk represents the everyday objects that I have collected over the years that are truly common, rocks, stamps, stickers, erasers, and candy wrappers are a few for example.

This life size sculpture is the center piece to my solo show Home . The ceramic section of this piece has the same proportions of my body from the knees up. The grid pedestal is made from select pine and references the natural structure of life and time.

Ephemeral clay installation installed for the exhibition ‘Grides’ in Saint Petersburg Florida. Segment was built onsite out of recycled clay. It is un-fired and was torn down with the closing of the show.
